In the first week of September we offer the following activites:

The photo shows art museum "Hamburger Bahnhof", with two nice cafes right by the canal and a colourful exhibition by artist Katharina Grosse. Our tip for the weekend: visit the exhibition, have a coffee .. you can walk there from GLS! See the route on google maps

Seminar: German Empire: 1871 - 1918

The German Empire ("Kaiserreich") was founded in 1871, uniting 26 countries like Bavaria and Saxony in a German nation-state. The Empire ended with the abdication of Kaiser Wilhelm II after World War I.Teacher: Jeremias

WED 2 September 2020

Film: "Der Baader-Meinhof-Komplex" - Film in German language with subtitles in German 

Content: The film tells the story of the West German far-left terrorist organisation the Rote Armee Fraktion (Red Army Fraction a.k.a. RAF) from 1967 to 1977. See the trailer here

City wealk: exploring "Scheunenviertel" with GLS guide Steph

The "Scheunenviertel" (= "district of barns") is one of Berlin's oldest and most charming districts. It has had an eventful history: from a poor district to a Jewish ghetto to devastation. Today, the Scheunenviertel is once again picking up on Jewish traditions. Read more here

Weekend

Berlin has beautiful lakes, rivers, canals and even forests within its borders. Hiking can be wonderful in Berlin - just select the hike you like best on this website!
