Diese Woche bei GLS sprechen wir viel über Kunst, Kultur und Film. Nach dem Filmseminar schauen wir den Film Transit und reden darüber. Am Donnerstag gibt es keinen normalen Unterricht, aber wir machen ein besonderes Seminar zu Kunst, Kultur und Konversation. Auch dort kann man viel lernen und gut Deutsch üben. Am Ende der Woche machen wir einen Ausflug nach Leipzig und entdecken eine neue Stadt!

This week at GLS, we're talking a lot about art, culture, and film. After the film seminar, we’ll watch the movie Transit and discuss it together. On Thursday, there won’t be regular classes, but we’ll have a special seminar on art, culture, and conversation. You can still learn a lot and practice your German there. At the end of the week, we’ll go on a trip to Leipzig and discover a new city!

This week is going to be exciting! 🔥 On May 1st we have a public holiday, so there will be no classes. But we still have some great activities planned! 💪There’s the “Better Learning – Successfully Through the Exam” seminar with helpful tips for studying! 📚💡We’ll also have a Berlin Wall seminar 🧱 and on Saturday, we’re going on a Day Trip to Leipzig – a real highlight! 🚌

Diese Woche bei GLS besuchen wir die Alte Nationalgalerie, erfahren mehr über die queere Geschichte Berlins und schauen uns die Gedenkstätte Berliner Mauer an. Zum Abschluss machen wir eine Schifffahrt auf der Spree und erleben Berlin vom Wasser aus!

We’re exploring Berlin – exciting and diverse!
This week at GLS, we’ll visit the Alte Nationalgalerie, learn about Berlin’s queer history, and explore the Berlin Wall Memorial. To wrap it all up, we’ll enjoy a relaxing boat tour on the Spree, seeing Berlin from the water!

Hi! My name’s Tess, I’m 18 from the US, and I sadly sit here writing this on one of my last days in Berlin. I originally chose to come learn German at GLS when my au pairing job fell through. I needed a place to recuperate and feel as though I was spending my time well. After 3 amazing weeks here with GLS, I could not have made a better decision. I was placed in the perfect level German class and I am astonished at the amount my German has improved. I have created relationships with my great teachers, Jörn and Francesca who answer all of my annoying questions no matter how big of a side trip it takes us on. I was shocked to find myself the only native English speaker in my class of 15 and found this diversity really added to the learning experience. We all got along very well and were able to learn about each other’s languages and cultures through German.
